Visual Identity
The VAND Perspective
This work was selected for its exceptional mastery of Meaningful Silence. It successfully balances human-centered functionality with a visual language that reduces noise and enhances clarity.
In an era of digital saturation, this project stands as a quiet rebellion; it does not compete for attention but commands it through precision and restraint. By stripping away the superfluous, the design invites a deeper engagement, proving that intentional absence can be the most profound presence.
The Creative Intent
The Dutch Nationale Opera & Ballet needed to be rebranded into an open and inviting brand, providing space for their various disciplines with a digital-first approach. Creative workshops elicited the brand promise, “Part of something greater than yourself.” From this, we created one strong brand with a distinct identity. The design starts from the brand promise, with an upward, transcendent movement and the art of omission at its core. This creates a choreography of elements. The motion design emphasizes the uplifting feeling. The flexible grid provides a stage and ensures consistency.
