Visual Identity
The VAND Perspective
This work was selected for its exceptional mastery of Meaningful Silence. It successfully balances human-centered functionality with a visual language that reduces noise and enhances clarity.
In an era of digital saturation, this project stands as a quiet rebellion; it does not compete for attention but commands it through precision and restraint. By stripping away the superfluous, the design invites a deeper engagement, proving that intentional absence can be the most profound presence.
The Creative Intent
To support the launch of the Jazz Orchestra of Galicia, we were commissioned to create a poster that was both striking and would endorse the group during its concerts. The Jazz Orchestra of Galicia features the incorporation of atypical and little known instruments from popular culture, to produce an indigenous and unique type of Jazz. That is why we decided to use photos of the musicians with less conventional instruments used in the Orchestra, to intrigue the viewer with peculiarity and visibility. Also, we were tasked with creating a brochure integrated into CD that contained the group's philosophy, which would serve to publicise the orchestra and introduce the group along with its first music CD at its first Jazz orchestra concert. Our approach was to integrate the CD onto the cover of the brochure and create a 28-page brochure from one piece, where one side would show photos of the orchestra and on the reverse the philosophy of the group as told by the group itself, as well as song sheets. A complex product aiming for a simple result in which the form qualified all of the production. A 28-page brochure that is not bound with staples or sewn, requiring pieces to be connected and use of hardcovers, dies and sleeves.
